Description
Since the Christmas tree is the focal point of the holiday celebration, it makes sense to choose a live tree for its natural beauty and exquisite fragrance.

Choosing our popular conifer, the Fraser Fir, at Pasquesi Home & Gardens will insure that your tree will be fresh and fragrant, hold onto its needles and be able to showcase your ornaments within its strong branches.

The Christmas tree is the centerpiece in the holiday celebration whether your memories are made with traditional glass ornaments and popcorn garland or by creating new traditions with contemporary materials. The freshly-cut, live tree is the starting point for all of the festivities. When you make the choice of choosing a live tree, it'll help to consider some of these suggestions on your quest to find the perfect tree. The Fraser Fir is the most popular type of Christmas tree because of its traditional, pyramid-like shape, uniform branching and —most importantly—it holds onto its needles unlike most live trees.

First, when shopping for a tree, decide where your tree will be placed in your home. Choose a place that is away from heat sources such as vents, fireplaces, sunny spots, that will dry out the tree prematurely. Take measurements: you can measure the ceiling height, the area around it and figure out the furniture that might have to be moved. Place it where you and your family can relax and enjoy it—even in a front window so neighbors can enjoy it, too. Before you bring the tree home, make sure you have a tree stand that will properly hold the size of the tree that you desire. Well built tree stands are made from heavier material. This will stabliize the tree and make it easier to place the tree into. Find one that also adjusts to varying trunk sizes.

When searching through a wide selection of live trees, keep in mind the measurements you took and choose one with the appropriate height and width. (It helps to bring a tape measure.) Remember that the tree stand and a tree topper will add a few more inches to the height. Check to make sure that the tree's trunk is straight so that it won't lean in the stand when you get it home. Look at the branches to make sure they are healthy and evenly spaced. Touch the needles to see if they bend easily, so they won't fall off when moved. A healthy and fresh tree should not shed too many needles, especially at this stage. Make sure that you get a fresh cut for your tree (to insure that it will drink plenty of water) and place it into your car or tie it securely to the top of your vehicle.

By remembering these steps, you will insure that your new Christmas tree will become your 'perfect' tree for this holiday season.
